Starting in 2024, Smart Charge Management program participants will be able to opt-in to a new feature known as Peak Avoidance. This driver preference gives participants the option to exclusively charge their vehicle during off-peak times, even if that means they won’t hit their desired state of charge by their departure time. Currently, participants may receive a managed charging schedule that includes on-peak charging if required to hit the target state of charge set in your preferences. However, we received customer feedback that this isn’t always preferred. For example, a customer may prefer to avoid charging on-peak even if it means they get to an 80% state of charge instead of their set target state of charge of 90%. In early 2024 you will be able to enable this additional preference in your evPulse account, if desired. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with questions or comments on Peak Avoidance.
